In the 1960's the Arias family brought a special Cuban seed to the lush farmlands of Honduras. This seed produces a sweet and aromatic tobacco, but was difficult to grow. In the early 2000's the Grupo de Maestros began to cultivate a new seed by crossing the original with the hearty and robust Criollo '98 tobacco seed. The resulting tobacco was called Yarguera, named after the farm on which it is grown. Yarguera celebrates the heritage which it comes from and the history it will create.
